DEPARTMENT SUB-DIVISIONS

1.Regional Prevention of Epidemics and Infectious Diseases Cell (RPEID cell) Daily monitoring and surveillance of communicable diseases attending the Medical College Hospital, identification of case clustering and initiation of rapid response at hospital level and community level in liaison with District Medical Office.

2.Preventive Clinic: Management of Animal bite cases and adult vaccination services.

3. Pain and Palliative Clinic: Pain management clinic at Medical College Hospital and home care for bedridden patients in the community.

4. Urban Health and Training Center (UHTC) Kandankali: OPD services, Basic laboratory service and Dental care provided at UHTC Kandankali. UG and PG training, Family survey and heath education sessions held at the UHTC field area and Anganwadi centres in the area.

5. Rural Health and Training Center (RHTC) Pazhayangadi: OPD services and UG and PG training activities in liaison with District Health Services.

6. DOTS center: Testing for TB, Counselling services, NIKSHAY registration, Drug supply and treatment services, TB-HIV Coordination, Health Education, UG and PG training.

7. ICTC: HIV testing services for pregnant women, patients with sexually transmitted infections, testing for walk-in individuals. Counselling services, Referral services to ART center, TB-HIV coordination.

8. Behaviour Modification Center: Counselling and Tobacco cessation activities provided for patients admitted in GMC Kannur and also for community in the field practice area.

9. Statistics Division: Research planning and statistical analysis, UG and PG training activities.

10. Entomology Division: Vector management, Vector survey and UG and PG training activities.

11. Sociology Division: Counselling services, UG and PG training on sociology and social determinants of health.

12. Field activities: Health education sessions, Epidemic surveillance and response supported by Sociologists, Health Inspector (HI) and Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM).
